Directions & Tips
Getting to
Rabbit Hash
About 25 miles southwest of Cincinnati. One of the most scenic drives in Northern Kentucky.
Arrival map
Cincinnati sets up the Rabbit Hash arrival.
This map shows the main arrival choices before the rest of the trip gets locked in. Cincinnati is the primary approach to compare first. Louisville is the helpful backup or add-on choice. The lines are planning corridors, not turn-by-turn road geometry, so use live directions before you drive.
- Tap a marker for the practical role each place plays in the trip.
- Solid line is the main approach; dashed lines are alternate regional approaches.

From Cincinnati, OH
~25 miles · 35–40 minutes
- Take I-75 South across the Ohio River into Kentucky
- Take Exit 181 toward Burlington / Richwood (KY-18)
- Turn right on KY-18 W (toward Burlington)
- Turn left on KY-1394 S (Crittenden-Mt. Zion Rd)
- Turn right on Lower River Rd, follow it into Rabbit Hash
💡 The scenic route: take US-42 W out of Cincinnati toward Hebron, then cut south to Rabbit Hash. Adds about 10 minutes but is far prettier.

From Louisville, KY
~90 miles · ~1.5 hours
- Take I-71 N toward Cincinnati
- Take Exit 57 toward Burlington / Richwood
- Follow KY-18 and then Lower River Rd into town
💡 A great day trip — pair it with a visit to the Creation Museum or Big Bone Lick State Park nearby.

Motorcycle Route — The River Road
Recommended Ride · KY-8 / Lower River Rd
If you're coming by bike, skip the highway entirely. Drop onto KY-8 (the River Road) at Bromley or Ludlow and ride it southwest along the Ohio. Sweeping river views, gentle curves, small towns, and the kind of paved road that rewards a careful throttle.
Lower River Rd terminates right in Rabbit Hash. The General Store porch is your destination. You'll know you've arrived when you see the bikes already parked.

Parking
Free · Limited on busy weekends
There's a gravel lot near the General Store and additional roadside parking along Lower River Rd. On busy summer and fall weekends — especially motorcycle days — the lot fills up. Arrive before noon on peak days, or be prepared to park a short walk down the road.
The town is tiny. Parking is never more than a 5-minute walk from the General Store.

Flying In
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG)
CVG is the closest airport — ironically located in Hebron, Kentucky, not Cincinnati. It's one of the most underrated airports in the region: easy parking, short lines, and served by most major carriers.
From CVG, Rabbit Hash is about 25 minutes south via US-42. Rent a car at the airport — public transit doesn't reach Rabbit Hash.
Visit Tips
Best Time to Visit
Spring through fall, weekends. Summer motorcycle days are lively. October is stunning for foliage along the river.
Bring Cash
The General Store may not always have card readers running. Cash makes everything easier in Rabbit Hash.
Check River Levels
Spring flooding can affect river access and occasionally the road. Check conditions if you're visiting March–May.
